Kacie,

It's an infection, I know by the color of the phlegm. I will get a swab test later today but I'm not sure if I should use antibiotics, given my relative success with the NSD.

I just made an appointment with a gastroenterologist to check the reflux thing. I hope is a good Dr., I got his name from the yellow pages.

Any advice and how to tell him about the whole Klebs and NSD thing? He will be most likely skeptic.

Print out a short overview of klebs and AS to show them. This was the shortest I could find:

SciVerse

But, I'm sure someone else has something even better. At any rate, I would show the doctor something, and explain that a starch free treatment would help you to remain pain and inflammation free. Are there any doctors at all in your area, who lean toward more natural treatments?

Iritis first diagnosed in 1991, presently recurrent and steroid resistant.
Tested HLA B27 positive in 1996.
AS diagnosed October of 2011.

Putting most of my eggs in the NSD and exercise basket, using only TENS, massage, heat and ice, and NSAIDS (sparingly) for pain. Drops for iritis as flare necessitates. Looking back I feel I would have been diagnosed with AS years ago, if I had found a rheumy earlier than 2011.

Thanks Kancie, definitely a good idea. I will translate it because even though most doctors can read english I won't want to look snobish.

I had to cancel the appointment and forgot that i had to go to the lab premises before brushing my teeth so I didn't have the swab done either.

And now the doctor won't consult until January, he comes recommended so I will wait. I tilted my bed and haven't had reflux in the last 24 hours but I still want that checked.
