If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

Todays run 5.57 miles in 54:41 minutes. I have been thinking that I should stop taking my MS medication. It says it makes you sick for 24 hours, but I am now feeling kink of sick for several day after the shot. I didn't feel very well when I started running, but started feeling better as I ran.

My activity in the last week: Walked 15 minutes (fighting back spasms all the way. who knew you used back muscles to walk)
Swam laps for 30 minutes, ended in a terrible ham string spasm.
Noodled around the pool 2 hours, oh so carefully, fighting off cramps and spasms.
Puttering around our yard, 2 hours, watching the sprinkler system try to keep up with the heat, watering flowers, pruning roses.dumbly left the skimmer hose over edge of the pool, and it drained about a third of the water out of it!!!
You have no idea how much you made my day!! Me and the kids put too much water in the pool last week (leave while the hose is on) and then I told my daughter to go let some out (it comes out a lot faster than it goes in) and she left it running and went back in the house. Then the pump cavitates (not good) when the water is too low again. Argh. I yelled into the air, "WE SHOULD NOT OWN A POOL! WE ARE TOO DUMB!!" So maybe we aren't dumb, just normal??? lol. I'm kind of "three stooges" normal.

Dow, Why not get a couple big carp, certain times of the year; they suck the top right off the water, nearly wearing out the surface. Then you could cook them up when they get big / catch them every day, and throw them back and catch then the next day. Or you, yourself could skim that water as you swim and spit at every turn around. Or yea could fasten a sponge to your forehead and rise it often? I am trying to help conserve water...

Donette, I get a tremendous work out laughing and enjoying some of our posts today. you said- "Then the pump cavitates (not good) when the water is too low again. Argh."" Well I think I am cavitating, is that serious? Is there a pill for that. I have been walking 1/2 hour every day now last two weeks. It has been tough with the burn, with the blood shot leg, with the hip swollen from the Harley accident and then there was the rhiziotomy. But I always feel better when I quite!!!
Way to go guys!

went to the jersey shore for my mom's 70th birthday surprise luncheon. friends, family, food, fun. my brother and sister-in-law arranged most of it. my nephew, a sous chef at the restaurant where it was held, oversaw all the cooking. my brother felt like my making the trip, as hard as travel is for me was gift enough. was even more of a challenge than usual because the heavens opened up just as we were leaving the philadelphia airport and all the roads from philly to NJ were literally flooded. in one place, all most 2 inches of rain in 20 minutes. for anyone familiar with the area, found that if we went north on the turnpike, cut over to red lion, went down to hammonton, over to mays landing, then took 40 into ocean city, we finally could get through. a 1.5 hour car trip became a 4 hour car ride; thank goodness for good old fashioned insulated ice bags! and once we were in mays landing, the emergency broadcast system came on over the radio and reported a tornado warning for hammonton NJ, just ~30 minutes after we passed through the area. they did see a funnel cloud in wharton state park not too far away. and then we got into ocean city, turned on the tv and saw that we only had about 30 minutes to go grab a bite to eat before the storm hit; lots of rain, high winds, and some local flooding, but all gone by the next day. and the weekend weather was fabulous! but quite the adventure getting there. the way back, 1 hour 20 minutes, no problem. back survived due to ice, but is feeling the effects of the trip. -------------------------------------------------------- saturday: ocean city NJ boardwalk: 14th to 4th and back again, 2.2 miles, 3 hours(a lot of window shopping on the way back ) a bit more beach and boardwalk walking in the evening, but not sure how much? sunday: ocean city NJ beach: 14th to 28th and back again, 3 miles, 2.5 hours (a lot of shell collecting, bird watching, standing in the surf ) much easier than walking on the boardwalk; between being barefoot in the soft sand and the cold ocean water, this is the way humans were supposed to walk, not on evil hard manmade surfaces with shoes on! more shopping along the boardwalk in the afternoon, out for about 3 hours, but didn't get very far distance wise. and more walking along the beach around sunset, though no idea of the distance, as i paced back and forth along the beach with the seagulls as they tried to eat and i tried to (not very successfully) photograph them; they're constantly on the move at that time of day! should've had my camera with me for the late morning walk when they were just veggin'. i wanted to walk a lot more, have a lot of weight to lose, but paced my feet this time so i could walk both days. since i was only there for two days, didn't want to resort to prednisone. but if i go somewhere for a week's vacation, think i'm gonna have to take my rheumy's advice and do a pred taper if not on another drug by that point. walking around (new places) is just something i love too much to have to give up and its so necessary for my overall health that i can't let my feet do me in. but must say, yay for LDN! cause as much as my feet were burning up in bed by sunday night, they're almost back to normal today. another yay for LDN i think: hubby has a horrible head cold right now. i thought i just had a bad migraine on sunday, but think it was congestion as i was clearly congested last night. but compared to hubby and how i used to get sick before the LDN, now i get more of the beginning of a cold and not much worse than that, so long as i can sleep enough to fight it off. or maybe it just hasn't hit me hard yet, but today i actually feel a bit less headachy than the last two days, so i do think the LDN has something to do with it. plus i now take 1000 mg of vitamin C a day, another good thing for colds, though not sure that's enough to do anything? ----------------------------------------------------------------- orch, even if your time is slower than it used to be, i'm still incredibly impressed! even in my good days, i used to run a 10 minute mile. see you're contemplating giving up your MS meds. i'm sure i've asked you before about if you've considered LDN, but just in case, i'll throw it back out there. dow, good work swimming even in a puddle, that's dedication! mig, good job walking the cat, probably about as productive as if i were to try to walk mookie on a leash! .......actually sounds a lot like my beach walk, but it was me who was distracted. hubby calls me a bowerbird because like them, i must gather every shiny object that crosses my path: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPbWJPsBPdAerica and donette, sorry you've been in so much pain lately. buggy, congrats!

Noodled around the pool 2 hours, oh so carefully, fighting off cramps and spasms. Good job battling the spasms! I've taken to drinking club soda which has almost eliminated swimming cramps. And I try to eat something salty for the meal before I swim. Worth a try?

I have been thinking that I should stop taking my MS medication. It says it makes you sick for 24 hours, but I am now feeling kink of sick for several day after the shot. Have you asked around on the MS forum if anyone else is having problems? One of my cousins has never taken Meds for her MS and is really health after 27 yrs. My niece takes the Meds, and she's healthy, too. I think everyone is just so different. I wonder if your running cranks up your natural endorphins, so maybe the Meds are redundant for you? I dunno... Whatever you decide I'm with you!
