Hi Dan,
Looks like things are improving - even if only slightly

I just wanted to mention that if you find indomethacin causes you indigestion/ulcer symptoms to ask if you can also add Misoprostol to your drug list to relieve those *awful* side effects.

We're all very different, but that med helped me tremendously, and much more than other meds that were intended to help with that potential problem with powerful NSAIDs like indomethacin.

Cheers without beers,

Howdy there!

Sooooo glad to hear that the dragon is flyin' and puffin' again slowly but surely!!
You know...when I went in for surgery on my back....the rehab doc there knew a tremendous amount on AS. He was very understanding and had an opportunity to see 1st hand with Buggie on the ugly head of AS and how it attacked me so viciously post surgery!! He's the one that saved me from the HMO hounds......they wanted to release me after a week in rehab!! My PT's were laughing after the meeting b/c my rehab doc never gave the HMO caseworker an opportunity to speak! He just zoomed in and told her straight out and that in no uncertain terms was I ready to leave. He told her that the combination of AS and major back surgery were a tremendous amount to handle let alone coming home to care for my small children as well! He told her that if she sent me home, I'd be back in the hospital for a longer period within a couple of days!! My PT was most impressed, b/c the caseworker just stayed quiet and said that was fine with her!! He made sure I was approved for home health care, walker, cane, and wheelchair, and all kinds of contraptions to help me with daily tasks! He did say that doc's still dont want to believe that women get AS, but obviously I've proved them otherwise!

Glad to hear you got a doc that is working with you instead of against you

Take care!
May there be more sunny days ahead for you my friend!

Toodles!
Angie

Hi Dan!
I'm so glad that you are feeling much better these days! And that you have meds there to help you on the days you don't feel so good. How does the Indocid affect your head? I mean, does it make you feel sedated or a bit light-headed? It did for me, so when I was on it I got a slow release(SR) form of the drug, and took it at night ( with food of course). I can not longer get this form of the drug in Canada, so I'm on the hunt for something new that works.
Anyways, glad to hear you're feeling GOOD!!!!
Laura

Hi Glenn,

I'll have to ask her if she is willing to take a trip up there. I'm glad to hear that you are getting at least some relief from your pain. I hope that you find something that really works well for you soon.

Take care my friend

Hi 'that Cole Girl'

Thanks for the reply. Your signature put a big old grin on my face. Yeah, things are starting to look up, finally. So now I can start taking care of some things instead of having everything there all at once and not being able to even start. I am looking forward to my massage tomorrow. I've decided that my second job at starbucks will be used soley to fund massages. My check there works out to about 4 massages a month, and the massage place is right next door to my starbucks.

Hi Cheryl,

Oh Yeah, PARTY time comming up! Boy am I looking forward to that.

I have had a more productive week than any since my seperation. It feels great! It's good to have my pain level berable, and have it seem like it will be for a while, unlike getting a little prednisone from the ER that one time. See you soon. (PARTY PARTY PARTY)

Hi Cindy,

I so glad that everything went well for you up here in DC. I don't blame you for wanting to get away from our traffic, though. I have to laugh every time when I visit my family in NM and they say, "Oh, man, it's rush hour. Look at all this traffic." I think, this is like the traffic back home on midnight on Sunday! It was great meeting you and Roger. Thanks for the reply. I am definatly finding that I am I am able to get more of my life in order now that my pain is down some.

Hi Darla,

Thanks for the reply. It's great to have a doc that is working with me to get this problem solved. I'll have to let time tell me if I can afford my massages, but I figure that my check from Starbucks can be used for them. I am hoping to get into the chat room more often, and now that I have a little better schedule at work, I'll be able to get in there on the weekends. Hope to catch you there some time.

Hi Krystyn,

I am sooo glad to be on the road to getting solutions for AS. Thanks. I have been having a pretty good day today other than AS, although there are still some problems. I hope to catch you in chat sometime soon.

I'm glad that you seem to be feeling better. How's everything going with school?

Take care my friend
