So nice to meet you and welcome to this site, which is as you are finding it to be, so full of support, information and kindness.
Just wait until you taste all the wonderful things you can make on NSD, you are going to rave about them! At the same time, it is ok to really feel sad about saying farewell to wheat bread and so on!

WELCOME Misty!! Congrats to on being a newlywed!!

You are now in the right place at the right time! We sooooo understand the difficulties of this pain-in-the-AS! The best thing you can do for yourself is to try to stay away from the depression as it can be the hardest to fight. It's purely understandable-but dangerous. Do not beat yourself up! I do the LSD (low starch diet) myself. Too little starch and I lose too much weight and get weak. So I need some carbs/starch. But to limit it has been a huge success for me. Don't feel bad about having to slow down either. You deserve it! Your body is struggling and you need the extra rest and caution. I would like to know how your mother is doing with her disease; is it under control, etc.

You just take care of yourself and keep checkin in here with us. We want to know how you are doing!

Welcome to KA!

Best of luck on the NSD! I was skeptical at first, but after reading so many success stories, I gave it a shot and it has given me a new lease on life. When I follow it strictly, the pain and stiffness stays away.

I have found that balancing work and taking care of your health to be a very difficult balancing act. Reducing your workload will probably help lots, especially if you have to take care of your family as well.

I wish you the best of luck!

Freddie

Hi MistyMae, I'm new, too. Been on NSD for almost two weeks and broke off of it tonight as a test (potato chips, and quite a few!). My symptoms all along have been pretty mild, so right now the only thing I have to go on is whether my tailbone hurts or not, or more or less. Not sure yet whether NSD is helping. Really hoping to feel some worse pain (believe it or not) tonight or tomorrow, because that would give me an indication that NSD is working!

Welcome aboard !!!
I know alot of what you read doesn't really tell the whole story and I think their picture is quite rosy compared to the reality of this disease for some. Never mind what they say....You are not alone in battling all the problems you are having. Keep coming here for support!!!! We know what you are going through.

I can not defeat you but I will not let you win
