Hey Guys,

Just arrived two days ago and had my first 20 minute radon bath yesterday. This is the first time I've done the Jachmov radon experience in the summer--awesome. Much more to do and the nature is stunning!

However, because I'm here in the summer, the prices are a little bit higher. So now I've traded the more upscale, neoclassical turn of the century spa experience of the Radium Palace for the more affordable, 1970's Soviet Era (lots of orange and brown pleather) experience of the Curie... oh well... Radon is radon!
My tablemate is also an AS sufferer and we've had fun comparing notes (this is her third time too).

So, if you think that expensive TNF meds and damaging anti-inflammatories are the only way to go in the fight against AS-think again. Radon has been proven time and time again to be very effective in treating the inflammation, pain and stiffness caused by AS in a gentle way. looking forward to another pain-free/med-free year!

The time it lasts varies from person to person. For me it lasts about 10 months-others more and others less.
Jachymov is located near Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) in Western Bohemia.
As far as I know, there aren't any radon facilities in France--just one in Austria and here in the CZ. Jachymov is the only place where the radon comes in contact with the skin through water--other places, like Austria or Montana, you go into a cave and breath in the gas.
Hope this makes sense--just got back from having a few Czech beers....

Hi Luigi,

Good to see your post and updates on your third return to Jackymov. Just to inform everyone that my treatments in May did produced results for my neck, shoulder and hip pains. My foot inflammation was reduced, but did not completely go away as anticipated. Like you, I hope to look forward to a pain-free/reduced year and plan to return to Jackymov next spring.

Hi Molly C,

For your information, Plombières-les-Bains in Lorraine region has some low doses of RADON. I did a three week cure and it did help. The problem was that it lasted only a couple of month. It's for this reason that I decided to tried Jackmov this year. The RADON is about 50X stronger in Jackymov than in Plombières-les-Bains.

Hi there Pilot - Yes, I did a Google search and came up with Plombieres-les-Bains in Lorraine. Thanks for yr input though, interesting to know that it is not as strong - didn't think it was, as the Plombieres site was more about Thalasso (salt) baths...

Whereabouts in France are you situated? Are you a member of the French Spondy Association? What is yr rheumy like? Like a relief to know that there is someone else here from/living in France. (Are you French or like me, a relocation?) Anyways, great to see you RC Pilot.

Thanks Luigi for yr input. Yes, makes sense. Was reading sites various. One of the places puts you into a sort of closed tub to the neck and they pour radon steam in and you sit there (or that's what I understood!) Germany seem to have a few 'Bads' around but certainly one kept coming back to the Czech site.

Must see if possible to make a pilgrimage...would LOVE for my feet to get better. WOW.

Thanks Luigi - hope it works for you for another year.
