If you want to use this QR code (Quick Response code) just save the image and paste it where you want. You can even print it and use it that way. Coffee cups, T-Shirts etc would all be good for the QR code.

hey luigi -
I went two nights in a row without the meds. pain level is a 3 (tolerable). haven't been able to go through the night without meds in over 6 months. just went two nights in a row! will tonight make it a third???
crossing fingers! I'm still doing the "wait and see" thing but its starting to get exciting. I just didn't expect to notice anything so fast.
every time I go into the mines I can "feel" the radon. I get the familiar headache, burning eyes, drowsy feeling within 15 minutes. something's definitely down here!

I am surprised that effects have occured this soon! many others report that it can take a few months after the treatment to kick in. Wow - maybe a few months from now it will get even better for you! Good luck and thanks for the posts.

Brad
any reason why you are doing over the 3 hours a day that the mine recommends? How do you break up those hours? I am assuming you don't do all at once.
Steve

hey steve,
not sure where you read abt three hrs a day. everyone here does at least four or five and probably closer to six to eight a day.
I usually go to the hot springs for an hour at ten am, hit the mines from 11:30 to 4:30, go back to the hot springs for another hour or two (you pay once for the day), eat dinner, then pick up a few hours in the evening in the radon room. mine closes at 6.

ON the mine site it talks about a 10 day stay and a total treatment of 32 hours is average. I guess I assumed that was about 3 hours a day LOL

Yep, I originally thought my stay was going to be 32 hours of mine time too. Unfortunately they say, "An average stay includes AT LEAST 32 hours over a 10-day stay. Your visit schedule will be determined by factors that may include severity of disease, mobility, energy, level of pain, and time or travel constraints." I guess if you have mild symptoms 32 hours will suffice, but I think AS counts as a little more severe, and most people I hear have really great results with more time. I'm not really looking forward to spending 8 hours a day in a cave, but if it got me out of this flare, I'd do 200 hours....lol

ahhh... yes. I believe that is the MINIMUM recommended. i'll have to ask the management abt that. I know that folks get anywhere from 32 to 80 hrs in the ten days. I think I'm on target to get somewhere around 70, if I can pick it up a bit these last five days. I'm just so tempted to swim at the hot pools and hike in the mountains...

If your ears begin to get pointed and you start to hang upside down from the ceiling you've probably exceeded your hours.

Brad, would you (or anyone else) have any ideas to share on the combination of low dose radon (immuno-stimulant) and biologics or prednisone (immuno-suppressants). Have you heard or seen of any cases at the mine, who were also simultaneously on some dose of either medication? I spoke to Pat (from the mine) and she had a clear recommendation on prednisone (preferably at or below 5mg, I believe) while doing the radon therapy. Obviously, experiences or anecdotal information on the TNF-blockers would be fewer and far apart.
Perhaps Megan: are you on either? Any thoughts before going?
Thanks.
