Welcome to KickAS. I hope you can find the answers you are searching for here and ifnot just make a post to ask and you will get plenty of answers to help you along.
From your post we share a lot of the same physical background with exercise, body building and martial arts. I'm not sure which ones you are still involved with but please be more careful when training with your katas and kumite. I tried for years to slow down but kept hyperextending my hip joints which made everything speed up and put my pain levels through the roof.
Nowadays the only martial arts I see live are when I get letters of invites to go watch another black belt test for his next rank.
