((Joy)) You are so sweet. How are things looking for you with the hurricane? It missed my daughter in FL. I hope it misses you. You will probably gets tons of rain won't you? Send some of it this way!

I got up this a.m. thinking that I felt better. I took my hubby to pick his car up at the shop about 8:00, came home and "Miracle Grew" my front flower bed and got so weak and shaky I came in and there she went. I worked at the desk a while and then slept the rest of the afternoon. I am just having a hard time getting there. I really took it easy yesterday and woke up without the arm spasms and today I stepped out and did my hair and my arm did not like it. I guess I am a slow learner but I am sure my hubby can only stand so much. I CAN avoid the mirrors. I am only doing it every other day instead of every day and I should go longer. I am not sure why it matters since I am stuck in anyway but if I give my best effort to not looking sick then I don't feel as sick.

Hubby just reminded me that every flare I have basically overcome by letting my body rest. Here you are doing the same thing. I think I will listen to you too!

It is obvious to me also that I am loved here. I am so thankful for that because I love all of you. You all are the inspiration here. You have been keeping me going for a long time.

Yes, Rita, you have really picked me up and I appreciate it also. I am sitting here with a big smile on my face. It is nice to be cared about. Guess what, even my sister called today and was concerned. Maybe she was just having a very bad day the other day. She has also been out of state with her job and just got back. I know she hates the out of state trips. I am sure I was a little harder on her about her comments than I should have been. I know every one has problems and stress in their lives and one of hers happens to be having to travel. She does not know how much I was hurt by her comments and I am so glad I didn't let her know. (My tongue sure did bleed a lot though)

PS I guess I am better. It is just so slow that I have to look back about a month to see that I am instead of a couple of days ago. I have been here before and I should expect that. Just no more "downs". Just "ups, ups, ups".

I'm glad you and your sister have spoken and that she was 'nicer'. I know sometimes we just expect more from our families, and sometimes we have to give them the benefit of the doubt! I guess we just have to 'bite our tongues'! and forgive them for the hurts they inflict on us .

just wanted to drop a line in to say that i am hoping you have brighter days ahead...sooner than later...

you offer so much support here and offering a shoulder to lean on when one of us is down in the dumps or flaring just miserably...so just lean on this little buggie's wings until you feel strong enough to fly high solo...k?

i know family means well and sometimes with the unknown they may say things that they have not fully thought over before blurting out or may not say anything because sometimes they fear seeing someone they love in pain without being able to change it or offer answers to this terrible disease.

please know that i am thinking of you and hope your pain subsides soon...we are expecting rain over here on sunday..wahoo!! i usually love a sunny day on a holiday but not this weekend !! i so am doing buggie rain dance!

Oh Possi,
What you wrote really hit home. I'm so sorry (and angry at them) that you're not better understood by your friends and family. It's hard enough as it is, without having to deal with the unsupportive folk. If you ask me, they could definately learn from you.
Really hope your flare subsides soon.

omg...gotta love family! always have a comment handy, anytime you need one! I'm sorry for that flare..I know how hard it is the way that pain just wears you down, a drip at a time. You know, I know you've been at this longer than me but something that really helped me was giving myself permission to be an old cranky $#!** sometimes, it's just too much to ask that after you wake up again in the morning with the same spot hurting; have added a few; hard to get up; don't care if you eat; don't want to go thru the trouble to pee; can't enjoy a simple day; so on and so forth...it's just too much to ask that you be happy and perky about all of it so the fam doesn't get their feelings hurt. sometimes enough is enough. Give yourself some permission to be cranky and feel bad. I like to give myself a timeframe. "I'm giving myself 6 weeks to feel like crap and not care about anything." then try again in 6 weeks. It helps take a load off when the load that you're carrying is having to be just the right thing for everybody else when you can't even function on a daily basis. keep hangin on.. Amy

*laugh* No problem! Through the years, I've learned to respond to Brent, Fred, Barry, and several others. Also, lots of people recently seem to like to turn my name around and make my last name my first name! Without revealing my last name, I'll say that yes, it can be used as a first name, but it sure isn't common--although I guess "Bradley" isn't a terribly uncommon last name so that when my name is reversed and people see that, I can see how people think it would be my last name.

It was good to hear from you again. Yes, we expect more out of our family I know. I guess deep down that I think we should be able to but I know they are just people with their own lives also. I guess it bothers me for my sweet hubby more than anything else. I keep encouraging him to get out and not sit here and try to entertain me. He does work 3 days a week and goes to the gym 3-4 days a week. I have him convinced to go with our grown kids to the football game tonight. I know I could never sit there. They have all kinds of things figured out for me. How many cars to take, where to park, when to leave, etc. but I am going to watch a movie and relax and let them enjoy the game without worrying about how Mom is.
