Ugh! My posting to Steve right after Rebecca's post sounds awful! I hadn't read through all the postings yet when I posted it.

Rebecca, I hope that any support you are able to get here at KickAS is helpful. All of this can be frightening -- and it sounds like you've really been having a time of it.

Hi Postal,
I think fusing is the end result of AS.After the spine is fused then other problems will accur especially in the chest area and the lungs. I exercise to prevent that from happening. Before I was diagnosed I always exercised so altho I am totally fused I have no shoulder, knee or hip problems.
Once in a while I may get a little pain in the heel and right hip but I get into the gym and work it out.
Seems that along with medication, exercise is the best thing for AS.

HOw about he impossibility of drinking soda from a can? I measure my AS progression by the can remainder. I think this should be every rheumies benchmark test for AS. If you see a can of soda and run in fear you definitely have AS.

For the last few months I have been having what feels like electrical shock feeling when I walk or move around. It started mostly in the arms and hands, but now in my sides, my chest, neck, head and shoulder areas. This could be heart related.

Hi Charles,

Your symptoms may also be related to some compression of the nerves coming to the areas where you are getting these electrical shocks. They can find out exactly what the cause is by doing a nerve conductivity test on you.

I was getting the same symptoms on my right leg which was due to a calcification build up on the areas where the L5 and S1 and S2 nerves exit the spine.

I just thought that looking at too many gals in bikinis would not be good for me so I picked blondes. However, I may just re-think that decision. Why are you putting these temptations in front of me? If I get caught staring at these gals, it's your fault.

Hey George,

Sure I'll take the blame if you get caught or you could say there was a some bees flying around where those ladies were walking and you were concerned one of them might get stung and you planned to yell to them if the a bee to close to one of them.

My wife used to asked me if she needed to drive so we wouldn't have a wreck or me break my neck trying to look. Besides if god didn't want us to look he would not have made them so beautiful.
