Most rescue centres and animal charities actively promote trap-neuter-return policies, and will fund this if no-one else to do so. Along with providing low cost/no cost neutering for pet cats, it is the only viable solution.

Take any alleged impact on birds with a big pinch of salt, there was a survey done in the UK which blamed cats big time for disappearing species/reduction in numbers when the actual culprit was significant environmental changes, particularly the loss of hedgerows. (err, hello?!)

Some people just don't/won't see the bigger picture.

The fact that pet cats have been deliberately killed already says it all.

There are beautiful photos at ifaw.org and some them will break your heart - especially the pictures of their work with the 'forgotten victims' of the tsunami - the pets, livestock (read livelihood) and endangered species affected by the disaster.
